I had a photoshoot with electro rock band Love X Stereo.
I worked on the cover of their upcoming album .
The basic idea was to create a kaleidoscope-esque image out of acrylic mirrors and lazers.
My 50mm lens had to fit in the kaleidoscope, so I bought three large pieces of acrylic mirrors for about 10 bucks and wrapped around the lens like a trigonal prism.
I used lazer pointers, smog, and Westcott's ICE light 2. I added a gelatin filter on the ICE light to bring up the color.
And I widened the lazer pointer emitter as wide as possible, so that the lazer came out its thickest. The overall setup was pretty simple. Once we started the photoshoot, we were all stunned by the mesmerizing outcome.
It took relatively very short time to create this perfect image that we all wanted.

I conducted emotional video project of Hyundai Heavy Industries.
The project has been going for several months with the story of motorcross racer' father and son that I knew before.
There were many trembling and dizzy moments during the project, but shooting video with amazing action was very exiting.

작업 진행동안 가슴떨리는 아찔한 순간도 많았지만, 멋진 액션과 함께하는 촬영은 즐거웠습니다.

미국에서 새로운 음반을 준비하던 magikmagik 오케스트라의 디렉터인 미나씨에게 인물 사진을 작업 요청을 받았다,
여러 컨셉 작업중 LED 조명을 사용한 사진 촬영은 아주 흥미롭고 재미 있었다, 그녀의 새 음반이 잘되길 기대한다

I received a job request of making portraits from the director Minna form the Magikmagik orchestra
she is preparing a new album in America, I’m working on a few concepts such as using the LED lighting to take pictures, it was interfering and fun,
I’m expecting and hoping that her new album will be great!

시종일관 갤럭시 익스프레스 맴버들과의 촬영은 즐거움의 연속이였다
무대에서 느꼈던 그들의 에너지와는 사뭇 다른 모습의 순수함에 피식 실없는 웃음이 나오기도 했다.
너무나 오랜 시간을 기다려온 그들의 새앨범이 좋은 노래만큼 좋은 결과로 그들에게 돌아갔으면 하는 바램이다

Not so long ago, I was asked for a band sugardonut’s portrait and a picture to serve as a show poster.
While looking for a more fun concept, I decided to do a vacuum-packing.
I told the band members to bring cherished belongings and used the preordered large vinyl and vacuum cleaner to make vacuum packs and shooted.
The leader of the last team had a problem while shooting so had muscle pain, but overall the shooting could be done efficiently because a lot of people thought about safety during the shooting.

어떠한 컨셉으로 어떠한 장소에서 어떠한 라이더와 진행 될것인가를 거의 일년을 고민하고 슛에 임하곤 한다.
한 2년동안 외부에서 너무 힘들게 촬영을 진행했던지라...
이번에는 파크 위주로 좀 이동거리를 줄인 촬영을 진행해 보았다...

얼마전 네덜란드 NRC Handelsblad에서 연말특집기획 촬영 의뢰를 받았습니다. 전세계의 난민에 관한 스토리였고,저는 한국의 탈북자 촬영을 맡게 되었는데,

생각했던것 처럼 까다롭고 불편했다

As I have learned music when I was young, I was accustomed to musical tone. While watching his work, I could not really cease to surprise ... continually ... and could not help repeatedly let out the phase, "This is ridiculous." I proposed the Portrait task to him which he accepted without hesitation and were able to make a interesting picture... were able to finish the job in just 10 minutes having only speed light with one toy of Aurora and also satisfied with the results.

미국에서 귀국후 시차적응전 급하게 진행된 룩북 촬영, 용마랜드를 배경으로 이루어진 촬영 초반에는 약간 몽롱한 기분이였던지 사진도 좀 그랬던것 같다

ISEOULSONIC 2014 USA TOUR VOL.2 -버거로 시작해서 버거로 끝난 투어 3월 SXSW를 시작으로 SEOULSONIC 미국 투어는 시작되었고 이번 10월에는 LA,SA에서 열린 Culture Cllide, NY의 CMJ에 참여 하였다. Rock N Roll Radio, LOVE X Stereo, Glen Check, From The Airport, BIG PHONY의 각각의 맴버들이 가지고 있는 음악에 대한 열정을 느낄수 있는 기회였다, 앞으로 그들의 세계시장에서 할 수 있는 일들이 많아 졌으면 하는 바램이다!

I received a request to take some photos of the products to be included in the catalog. I thought hard since I wanted to proceed with another method and because the weather was hot, I thought about taking photos in the water. I prepared a pool for small children. I covered the floor of the pool with black cloth and then supplied water into the pool and started taking pictures. The result was very satisfying. I think that this is an efficient way when we cannot use a bigger pool. Please refer to the movie.

간단한 플래쉬를 사용하여서 촬영할 경우가 종종 있다, 이 경우 스타일에 따라 직광을 치거나 천정/벽 등에 바운스 하는경우도 있다. 직광의 경우에는 아무래도 콘트라스트는 세지고 뚜렷한 샤도우와 하일라이트가 존재하게 된다, 아무래도 인물 사진에는 좀 딱딱한 느낌이 있다. 바운스 라이팅의 경우에는 피사체와 배경에 골고루 조광이 된다, 이 경우 좀 평면적인 느낌을 받을수 있고, 바운싱 방향에 따라...

Galaxy Express is a garage rock band from South Korea. Formed in 2006, they immediately became renowned for their energetic stage presence. Jindo, Paengmok Port, ferry Capsized and sank-Wall street Journal
JINDO, South Korea— Koh Sun-ja feels a surge of anger whenever she sees her deserted raw fish restaurant that she's been running with her husband for 30 years. As one of only a few restaurants at Paengmok Port on the southern coast of Jindo island, the restaurant had always bustled with beachgoers and anglers. But everything changed when a ferry capsized and sank 17 miles offshore. "Since that happened, patrons completely stopped coming," says Ms. Koh, letting out a deep sigh. "I feel so sorry for the families, but I can't stand it anymore. I have no idea when I can resume my life" she says. Her husband stopped going out to the sea to catch fish. "There is no demand here." On April 16, the ferry Sewol sank in the water off the southern coast near the island, claiming hundreds of lives. A total of 294 bodies have been recovered, and 10 are still missing....
